July 18, 2011. Diary of a Billsticker – Boston and Cambridge, USA

I spent three or four days in Boston and Cambridge doing early morning runs and topping up during the day. I had the same dozen or so Kiwi poets with me as in Lowell.

Massachusetts has strict postering laws and this excited me in a Tourette's-like way. A Lions Club wants me to give an entrepreneur talk. I'm not sure I'm qualified.

The Harvard and MIT area felt sterile to me. It needs Dunedin's Castle Street dropped into it. It needs Speights and Cosmic Corner and an Androidss gig.

William S. Burroughs went to Harvard. The Irish Mob and the Italian Mob and the Heroin Trade have all had their say in Boston. Whitey Bulger was recently arrested – he was the second most wanted man on the FBI list after Bin Laden.

A reporter emailed me wanting to do a story on the postering. I was pleased about that.

Keep the Faith,
Jim Wilson
